The Hashemite kingdom of Jordan is a country at the crossroads of the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe. Bordering  Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the West Bank of the Palestinian territories, Jordan has a population of about 10 million people.

For the visitor, the country is rich and varied, interesting and educational, full of amazing sites, delicious food and the most friendly and helpful people. The sites include one of the new Wonders of the World in Petra (truly awe-inspiring), the amazing red Wadi Rum desert, staggering Roman cities such as Jerash, Mount Nebo (where Moses viewed the Promised Land), a vibrant and colourful capital city in Amman and the singular experience of the Dead Sea (not particularly scenic but floating in it is pretty weird and fun).
